Job Description:

What you are responsible for:

  • Lead a team of data scientists and data engineers with your vision for transformation and digitalization within the energy industry.
  • Coach and develop a team capable of responding to changing business needs and priorities, drive continuous improvement in performance and quality according to individual’s level of competence.
  • Deliver key performance objectives and ensure high performance across the full project life cycle via effective resource planning and scheduling, as well as on-time, on-budget, within-scope and high-quality project execution.
  • Contribute hands-on in engagements and develop transformative and innovative data products with your deep experience in data science and data engineering.
  • Build and strengthen key stakeholder relationships, serve as the primary point of contact for business and technology partners from different E.ON countries, inspire them and identify impactful opportunities for data and analytics solutions.
  • Develop strategies to increase engagement opportunities.
  • Take ownership of the P&L of your unit and ensure utilization of your team.
  • Contribute towards employer branding by speaking at conferences, writing articles and being active on social media.

What you are good at:

  • You have 3+ years of professional experience in a leading role within a data department or management consulting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the energy industry.
  • You have a degree/PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related technical discipline and significant hands-on work experience.
  • You have a clear vision on how to unleash the potential of data to accelerate business transformation and growth.
  • You inspire others with your attitude and your passion for data and green energy.
  • You have excellent communication and mediation skills, strong ability to pitch, sell and deliver innovative data projects.
  • You have professional experience in machine learning model development, training and deployment.
  • Ideally, you have professional experience in working with state-of-the-art cloud technologies (various Azure services are a plus).
  • Ideally, you have professional knowledge about MLOps and software development best practices, for example version control, CI/CD, monitoring, automation and unit testing (Azure DevOps is a plus).
  • You have excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.
