Danfoss is establishing an in-house tax function in Germany, and this role leads tax strategy, governance, and risk management for our German entities. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Group Tax, Legal, Shared Services, and business leaders to align tax objectives with business needs.

You will shape the future tax organization, build capabilities, and drive digitalization and process improvements to support growth and compliant operations across the market.

Qualifikationen

• Deep knowledge of German tax laws (direct and indirect taxes) gained in a multinational company or advisory environment.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing stakeholders across functions.

This is a unique opportunity to build and shape Danfoss' in-house tax function in Germany. You will play a key role in bringing critical tax capabilities closer to the business while creating a future-ready tax organization that supports growth, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

You will be the trusted tax partner for our German entities, leading tax strategy, compliance, governance, and risk management while collaborating closely with Finance, Group Tax, Legal, Shared Services, and business leaders. This is more than a compliance role. It is a chance to influence how tax is managed across one of Danfoss' most important markets.

As we establish this function internally, you will have the opportunity to define priorities, build capabilities, develop a team, and drive innovation through process improvements, digitalization, and modern tax practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Germany's end-to-end tax agenda across corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting to ensure full compliance and business confidence.
• Build and develop a high-performing tax team by coaching, setting priorities, and creating an environment of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
• Partner with business leaders, Finance, Group Tax, Legal, Shared Services, and external stakeholders to provide practical tax guidance and support strategic initiatives.
• Drive tax governance, risk management, and audit readiness to strengthen controls and support sustainable business operations.
• Improve tax processes through standardization, automation, and digital solutions that increase efficiency and help future-proof the function.

What We're Looking For

• Strong expertise across German taxation, including direct and indirect taxes, gained in a multinational company, advisory environment, or both. A German Tax Advisor (Steuerberater) qualification is highly valued.
• Proven experience leading people and developing teams while creating strong stakeholder relationships across different functions.
• Ability to navigate complexity, set priorities, and build effective solutions in a developing or evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex tax topics into clear business recommendations.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
