Job summary

OHB SE is seeking a seasoned systems engineer to analyze, define, derive, and manage EO payload requirements, ensuring completeness and verifiability while considering cost and verification impacts.

You will coordinate EO payload architectures, lead development activities, support SRR/PDR/CDR, and help budget system-level technical programs. You will prepare test specs and contribute to Launch, LEOP, and In-Orbit Test activities, implementing approved design changes.

Qualifications

• Master’s, Diploma or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in design, development and validation of spacecraft and subsystems.
• Proven expertise in at least one systems engineering domain (design, testing, or coordination).
• Strong analytical, holistic thinking and cost-conscious approach.
• Excellent teamwork, collaboration across disciplines and leadership capability.

• Responsible for the analysis, definition, derivation, and management of system and EO payload requirements, ensuring completeness, consistency, and verifiability while considering cost and verification impacts
• Coordinate EO payload system architectures and technical interfaces, and assess design concepts with respect to requirements, risks, costs, schedules, and the reuse of existing solutions
• Lead and support EO payloads development and design activities, including technical analyses to demonstrate compliance with specified system requirements
• Support and contribute to system design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), verification planning, and the preparation and management of system-level technical budgets
• Prepare test specifications and support the definition, execution, and evaluation of verification and testing activities to demonstrate requirement compliance
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of Launch, LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase), and In-Orbit Test (IOT) activities, while supporting change management and the implementation of approved design modifications and deviations

Your Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree (Master’s, Diploma, or PhD) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a comparable discipline
• Extensive experience in the design, development, and validation of spacecraft, space equipment, and related subsystems
• Proven expertise in at least one systems engineering domain, such as design development and testing of radar and telecommuniction systems, spacecraft design, Interface Engineering, Requirements Engineering & Management, Verification & Validation, or Engineering Coordination
• Strong analytical and technical judgment skills combined with a holistic systems perspective and a solution- and cost-oriented mindset
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, flexibility in addressing technical challenges, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments
