Overview: This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. The Systems Administrator - Senior is responsible for tasks associated with the day-to-day technical operations of the Network Control Center supporting US Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District (CENAU). Responsible for leading and supporting tasks required to support and administratively maintain the server environment for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District (CENAU). Responsible for activities related to system administration. Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Place of Performance: Wiesbaden, Germany with possible travel to field sites throughout Europe.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience / Skills: MA/MS with 10+ years or BA/BS with 12+ years of experience with VMWare Certification version 6 or higher (VCP6).
Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities: May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement systems/network security measures. Will provide leadership/mentorship to junior & mid-level network administrators.
