This position is part of our Safety Business Unit, which aims to enable safer, greener and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.

Your tasks

• Support by generating and reviewing Safety Assessment and Analyses for Aircraft Systems (FHA, pSSA, SSA, Fault Trees, Quantitative and Qualitative Assessments) with the support of more experienced Safety Engineers
• Provide support to the System Design Teams and suppliers to help ensure alignment with predefined safety objectives and requirements
• Support the tracking and documentation of safety-related requirements throughout the development process under guidance
• Assist in reviewing documentation (e.g., Instructions for Continued Airworthiness) for compliance with safety requirements of the in-service fleet
• Provide input for the identification of basic safety considerations in support of system development or modification activities
• Manage input from and output to interfacing technical domains and technology (processes, maintenance, human error, aircraft performance and quality, etc.)
• Document and report findings or contributions in coordination with more experienced safety engineers

Required expertise and skills

The work task requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed course of study with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering or equivalent. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways.

• Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
• First experience in the field of Safety and Reliability Engineering in the aviation industry
• First experience in Aircraft Systems and Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (ARP 4761, ARP 4754A)
• Target-oriented with analytic problem-solving skills, willing to learn new things, able to perform several System safety tasks in parallel
• Team player, organized and autonomous person with good communication skills
• Very good written and spoken English & German
• Willingness to travel domestically and abroad
