Position: Systems Engineer Space System Studies (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

• Participate in or lead proposals and studies/projects (phases 0 / A / B) and technology development programs focusing on secure and quantum communication.
• Prepare proposals and implement projects (phases B / C / D / E) with a focus on secure/quantum communication.
• Conduct security analyses and certification activities related to secure or quantum communication missions, payloads, and components.
• Perform vulnerability, threat, and risk analyses.
• Support and advise on security validation according to ISO27k and certification according to CC/ITGS of the BSI.
• Analyze and define customer, mission, and system requirements.
• Coordinate technically and manage systems.
• Define study logic, work breakdown structures, and work packages.
• Manage work packages and sub-projects.
• Evaluate technical and programmatic trade-offs.
• Specify systems and subsystems, interface engineering.
• Derive security system requirements and develop cybersecurity concepts.
• Collaborate closely with system design teams to understand cybersecurity threats, risks, features, and ensure smooth implementation.
• Define budgets and perform engineering tasks.

Your Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
• Experience in designing and implementing secure and quantum communication systems for ground and space applications.
• Knowledge of key management systems and cryptographic systems.
• Experience assessing security risks using EBIOS or ISO methodologies.
• Ideally, experience leading small teams in project management and technical roles.
• Passion for systematically proving the security properties of systems.
• Proactive team player with a self-managed working style.
