Quantum Systems GmbH in Gilching seeks a Swarming Software Engineer to architect, implement and test algorithms for multi-drone operations. You will work with AI/ML, edge AI and control theory to optimize swarm behavior and deploy on embedded Linux using ROS2 Nvidia architecture.

The role requires a degree in CS/EE or related field, at least 3 years in UAVs/robotics, strong Rust experience, with C++ familiarity, and solid knowledge of data fusion and probabilistic robotics.

As a Swarming Software Engineer (m/f/d), you will be a significant key function of our Swarming team and support our mission of letting swarms of drones fly automatically. With our world-class team, currently 7 team members, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology. You will work closely with stakeholders from AI-ML, edge-AI, and control theory to optimize our swarming algorithm. With a focus on multi-UAV coordination, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for aerial data collection solutions with unmanned aerial systems.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Develop, deploy and test algorithms for multi-drone operations
• Optimize algorithms for overall mission performance
• Use simulations for development and then deploy to embedded Linux
• Find solutions in the areas of multi-vehicle-routing, scheduling and data fusion
• Integrate your code into an existing ROS2 Nvidia architecture

What you bring to the team:

• You have completed a degree technical university or a comparable background with a finished degree.
• You have a degree/ completed training in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
• You already have at least 3 years of professional experience in UAVs, robotics or comparable fields.
• You are highly experienced in Rust.
• C++ experience is also appreciated.
• You have knowledge about probabilistic robotics and data fusion.
• Your open, communicative, very friendly and competent manner makes it easy for you to be seen as an internal expert.
• You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility forward independently.
• Communication in English is a matter of course for you.
