Sustainability and Energy Consultant – Munich, Germany

Longevity Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary energy and sustainability consultancy established in 2015, is seeking a Building Optimization Associate Director to oversee its energy efficiency, sustainable due diligence, and net-zero activities across Europe. This high-profile role reports directly to the Head of Building Optimization and country directors, based in Munich with remote working options.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct detailed, investment-grade energy audits to identify energy conservation measures and develop investment business cases.
2. Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver ambitious projects such as global Net Positive or Science Based Targets implementation roadmaps.
3. Challenge, provide insights, forecast future trends, and articulate the value of sustainability to businesses, understanding future value creation.
4. Create thought leadership pieces to communicate and enhance client offerings, keeping the team at the forefront of emerging sustainability thinking.
5. Develop client relationships with listed investors and corporate clients.

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree in building engineering, environmental engineering, or related fields.
• 2-5 years of experience in energy efficiency, auditing, performance contracting, building optimization, or low-carbon building design.
• Experience in conducting energy audits and assessing energy sources.
• Strong analytical skills for ESG data collection, validation, and reporting.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, accurate, and engaging client-ready outputs independently.
• Proven project management skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Passion for tackling climate change and advancing sustainability.
• Fluency in German and professional English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with measurement and verification (M&V) programmes in line with IPMVP.
• Experience with pan-European carbon reduction programmes.
• Knowledge of sustainability reporting mechanisms such as CDP, GRESB, CRREM, GRI, PRI, IFC, and the Equator Principles.
• Experience with TCFD, ESG materiality assessments, and reporting methodologies.
• Familiarity with initiatives like CDP, GRESB, ESOS, Science Based Targets, Net Positive approaches.
• Understanding of European legislation related to building performance.
