Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a 2nd-Level network engineer in Karlsruhe, Germany. The role focuses on fault analysis, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution across enterprise, carrier, and service provider networks.

You will own incident resolution within SLAs and coordinate with clients, carriers, and field partners. You will contribute to monitoring platform enhancements (Infosim StableNet) and lead conference calls, remote sessions, and stakeholder communications.

Qualifikationen

• Experience operating and troubleshooting complex enterprise, carrier, or service provider networks.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies: VLAN, Spanning Tree, IP/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, and Layer 2/3 VPNs.
• Juniper certification desirable (e.g. JNCIS-SP or JNCIS-ENT) or comparable.

• Support, maintain, and help develop the central monitoring platform (Infosim StableNet)
• Run conference calls and remote sessions, managing communication across all stakeholders
• Contribute to process optimisation and bring creative solutions to technical challenges
• Support XNOC operations via shift work and on-call rotation
• Provide on-site presence with the client team, 3 days per week

Skills/Must have:

• Experience operating and troubleshooting complex enterprise, carrier, or service provider networks; data centre infrastructure experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies: VLAN, Spanning Tree, IP/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, and Layer 2/3 VPNs
• Juniper certification desirable (e.g. JNCIS-SP or JNCIS-ENT) or comparable
• Structured, solutions-focused approach to complex technical problems
• Strong teamwork, ownership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Fluent German and good English, spoken and written (essential, given the on-site client-facing nature of the role)

Salary:

• Circa €45,000 – €55,000 (some flexibility depending on experience)
