Annapurna HR Ltd supports a growing IT security organisation in Cologne seeking a Network Support Engineer to join its dedicated support team. You’ll work in a managed service environment, supporting customer network and security infrastructure and helping resolve technical issues across LAN, WAN, VPN and firewall environments.

In this role you’ll troubleshoot network and security incidents at 2nd level, administer firewall environments, diagnose issues across LAN/WAN/VPN, and assist 1st level

Qualifikationen

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, DNS and DHCP.
• Hands-on firewall experience with Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto or WatchGuard.
• Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems.
• Linux knowledge.
• German and English communication.
• Growth mindset in learning network security.

We're supporting a growing IT security organisation in Cologne that is looking for a Network Support Engineer to join its support team.

You’ll work in a managed service environment, supporting customer network and security infrastructure and helping resolve technical issues across LAN, WAN, VPN and firewall environments.

What you’ll be doing:

• Troubleshooting network and security incidents within 2nd level support

• Administering and operating firewall environments and Implementing firewall rule changes and security optimisations

• Diagnosing issues across LAN, WAN, VPN, routing and switching

• Monitoring and maintaining customer environments whilst supporting customer projects and new network/security implementations

• Supporting 1st level teams with technical escalations

• Investigating security events and supporting incident response

• Documenting incidents, changes and technical solutions

What we’re looking for:

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, DNS and DHCP

• Hands-on experience with at least one firewall technology such as Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto or WatchGuard

• Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Linux knowledge & experience

• Comfortable communicating directly with customers in German and English

• A genuine growth mindset in learning and developing further within network and cyber security

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with at least one firewall technology such as Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto or WatchGuard

• SIEM or security monitoring experience

• Past experience Red Hat, Ubuntu or Debian
