Position : Supply Chain Director (m / f / d)

Our client is a highly successful medical-technology organisation and a leading contract manufacturer for Medical Devices. As a manufacturer, they develop innovative solutions in accordance with the customer’s requirements and specifications, customer orientation is of prime importance to them. Currently offering 1,000+ different Medical Device products, all reflecting the highest level of precision engineering.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a talented Supply Chain Director to join their leadership team in Germany. Reporting into the Managing Director this newly created position and will be required to provide leadership and direction to entire Supply chain function of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the establishment of collaborative Materials and Production planning organization within the site.
  • Establish and ensure production plans submitted to manufacturing are translated to line side requirements including consideration of labour, material and capital capacity.
  • Build, deploy and monitor metrics scorecards to ensure production attainment meet or exceed their throughput and efficiency goals
  • Own and manage the relationship and collaboration with parts and component suppliers servicing the manufacturing site.
  • Ensure contracts and quality of all inbound and outbound vendors is maintained at or above company standards for service, safety and compliance to specifications.
  • Assess the level of talent within the End-to-End Supply chain within the facilities and implement development and mentoring activities to promote organizational growth.
  • Manage Raw; Component and WIP inventory plans to meet budgeted targets.
  • Establish appropriate metrics and provide regular status reports to senior management.
  • Promote the implementation of Lean thinking into the Materials and Operations organization.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Educated
  • Ideally prior experience within the medical device or life science sector, however other sector experience will be considered.
  • Eight (+) years’ experience gained within a supply chain organization.
  • Minimum four years in a leadership role
  • Must have a solid understanding Manufacturing Planning, Materials Procurement, Line-side Schedule and Operations Planning as well as ERP and forecasting systems.
  • Need to have prior experience either building out or transforming a supply chain organisation's processes and systems covering the above areas.
  • Will need to have strong communication and influence management skills.
  • Will need to be a passionate and self-starter who likes to have an impact and get things done.
