About the Role

Position: Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader

The SI Leader collaborates with the Director of Online Tutoring Services to provide comprehensive academic support to students. The role focuses on enhancing student retention through supplemental instruction for online course sections. The Academic Success Center (ASC), part of the College of Applied Studies and Academic Success, aims to support both residential and online students at Liberty University by offering free supplemental instruction each semester.

Responsibilities

1. Lead multiple online SI sessions weekly, fostering interactive discussions on challenging course content (40%).
2. Design engaging activities suitable for online sessions to motivate student participation (40%).
3. Apply effective course-specific study and learning strategies to promote academic progress (10%).
4. Attend mandatory SI Leader orientations, training, and meetings as scheduled (5%).
5. Perform administrative duties related to SI as assigned by the Director of Online Tutoring Services (5%).

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum cumulative LU GPA of 3.0.
