The European Central Bank is seeking qualified candidates for roles in the Banking Supervision Data Division and Securities and Financial Markets Data Division. These positions require strong programming and analysis skills, focusing on collecting and processing critical data to support high-quality decision-making in European financial supervision.
Your team
You will be part of the Banking Supervision Data Division or the Securities and Financial Markets Data Division in the Directorate General Statistics. Our Directorate General has over 300 staff and aims to strengthen Europe by supporting ECB decision-making with high-quality data and statistics.
In your role as a Supervision Analyst in the Banking Supervision Data Division, you will be part of a team of ten members of staff responsible for collecting, processing, quality checking and disseminating supervisory data from credit institutions. This includes data that are required under the European Banking Authority’s Implementing Technical Standards on supervisory reporting as well as data requested by ECB Banking Supervision. We also create and maintain several risk dashboards for the Single Supervisory Mechanism. We define and calculate key risk indicators and publish aggregated and bank-level supervisory data, including quarterly supervisory banking statistics . You will work closely with colleagues from ECB Banking Supervision, national competent authorities and the European Banking Authority.
In your role as a Data Science Analyst in the Securities and Financial Markets Data Division, you will be part of a team of six members of staff responsible for collecting, processing, transforming, quality checking and disseminating granular daily and high-frequency intraday data from commercial market data providers. The team also calculates and publishes derived financial market indicators and works closely with IT experts to maintain and develop the system containing high frequency financial markets data . You will work closely with colleagues in risk management, market operations, monetary policy, European banking supervision , economics and financial stability.

The formal title for the position in the Securities and Financial Markets Data Division will be Research Analyst.
The contracts offered will be fixed-term, with the appointment lasting until approximately the end of January 2027.
Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.

Application and selection process
The recruitment process for this position will be conducted remotely. It will include a pre-recorded video interview in the pre-selection phase and – if you are invited to participate in the subsequent selection phase – a written exercise and an interview.
