Position: Subcontractor Manager (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

1. Implementation and execution of subsystem and equipment procurement for satellites including bus and payload subsystems and equipment as well as ground support equipment, especially for predevelopments, Phase A & B1 study projects
2. Management of required subcontract documents (contract, SOW, specification) and negotiation of the subcontract's commercial and contractual agreements
3. Management of the supplier and subcontract for delivery on cost, quality, and time from contract implementation until hardware delivery
4. Perform regular program and management reviews during the subcontract lifetime
5. Implement and manage a competitive tendering process in an international environment
6. Acquire an overview of subsystem and equipment prices
7. Understand the price drivers for certain subsystems and equipment to achieve financial targets
8. Perform subcontractor rating including feedback and corrective actions
9. Manage procurements within customer-driven requirements
10. Report regularly on procurement status and progress
11. Be the focal point of contact for a procurement domain and related subsystem, equipment, and service range
12. Support early program cost estimation
13. Evaluate suppliers worldwide for your domain
14. Support internal process definition and optimization

Your Qualifications

1. Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Optics or Opto-Electronics, Physics, or similar technical areas
2. Experience in the space sector is highly desirable
3. Several years of experience in development, manufacturing, qualification, and testing of complex systems, preferably in space
4. Extensive experience in procurement and management of complex subcontracts
5. Experience in legal matters and contract negotiations
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English
7. Process-oriented working discipline
8. High motivation and team spirit
9. Willingness to travel frequently within Europe for international subcontractor coordination
