It efficiently transmits large amounts of electricity over long distances, integrates renewables, and interconnects grids. About The Position

For the SuedLink DC4 project, we are looking for a Subcontract Delivery Manager (f/m/d). The project involves constructing a high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link between Wilster in Schleswig‑Holstein and Bergrheinfeld in Bavaria.

As a Contract Manager – Subcontract based in Bergrheinfeld, Bavaria, or Wilster, Schleswig-Holstein, you will be responsible for the commercial management and administration of all subcontractor agreements for construction and installation works.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Receive subcontract reports per requirements and distribute to HE project team for comments
• Manage Non‑Conformity Reports (NCR) from/to subcontractors
• Receive and analyze variation order requests from subcontractors
• Prepare subcontract‑specific variation orders and communicate within Hitachi Energy (HE) and to the subcontractors
• Receive and analyze notifications/claims from subcontractors
• Receive, analyze, and process HE internal change orders for subcontracts (e.g., design and site changes)
• Implement external change orders from client or third parties for relevant subcontracts
• Request subcontractors to present mitigation plans when needed
• Manage Quantity Surveyor (QS) if assigned to the subcontracting team
• Perform QS responsibilities per the QS Job Description when a QS is not assigned / required

Your Background

• Committed, structured, well‑organized, and goal‑oriented, with strong teamwork skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification
• Fluent in German and English at business level
• Experience evaluating contractor compliance with international standards, laws, and regulations
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ideally, experience with AVA software and SAP S/4HANA
• Proactive mindset when planning and executing activities
• Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication abilities
• Willingness to work on site at the construction site
