Serve as a reliable partner in the day-to-day administration of project contracts. This includes managing formal correspondence with contractual counterparties, initiating contract amendments, claims, and change orders, and ensuring their timely and high-quality submission in collaboration with the project team and key stakeholder functions such as Insurance and Tax.
Play a key role in negotiations during project execution and strategically prepare for these discussions together with relevant stakeholders. You will also familiarize yourself with commercial and technical matters to support negotiations effectively.
Work successfully within multidisciplinary teams and leverage your broad expertise and strong questioning techniques to gather relevant information and implement contract management activities within your area of responsibility.
Analyze contractual documentation together with the project team, including contract conditions, specifications, schedules, and related project documents. Identify opportunities and risks, raise awareness within the project team, and facilitate contract workshops.
Ensure the timely and accurate execution of commercial contract matters across the contract portfolio, including invoicing, claims management, submission of change orders, fulfillment of insurance requirements, and other contractual obligations.
Work closely with the Legal Department, align on major claims, and keep legal stakeholders informed of critical developments throughout project execution. Support legal teams in disputes, litigation, and arbitration proceedings.
Contribute to the project close-out process by working with project management to ensure that all contractual obligations have been fulfilled by all parties and that no outstanding liabilities remain.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Solid knowledge of German contract law and practical experience applying it in a business environment.
Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills in both German and English.
Ideally 5-10 years of experience as a Contract Manager within EPC projects and familiarity with complex project contracts.
Proven expertise in claims and change management as well as the assessment of contract-related legal matters.
Ability to work confidently with customers and subcontractors on all contract and project-related issues.
Experience in German grid infrastructure projects is a strong advantage.
Willingness to travel approximately 10-20%; family-friendly arrangements can be accommodated.
