We are currently seeking a Automotive Design Studio Engineer to join our international AVATR Design Center in Munich. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and creatively driven individual who thrives in the space between design and engineering. As part of our dynamic, multicultural team, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, digital and clay modelers, and engineers to bring bold, forward-thinking vehicle designs to life — from sketch to production.

What you will be doing

• Design Development & Feasibility: Translate 2D concepts into 3D CAD while ensuring styling intent aligns with technical constraints and manufacturability.
• Technical Collaboration: Act as a key link between design and engineering, resolving conflicts and supporting model development through clear communication.
• CAD & Modeling: Work with CATIA to manage surface data, perform quality checks, and prepare accurate 3D models for engineering and production use.
• Packaging & Ergonomics: Conduct vehicle packaging studies to ensure spatial efficiency, ergonomic comfort, and regulatory compliance.
• Innovation & Compliance: Keep up with design trends and materials, ensuring global compliance while improving workflows between design and engineering.Qualifications & Skills
  
  

What you will bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive studio engineering, with a portfolio showcasing surface modeling and design refinement skills.
• Proficiency in CATIA; familiarity with Alias or ICEM Surf is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of automotive architecture, manufacturing processes, and vehicle packaging, including regulatory and ergonomic requirements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented and proactive mindset.
• Comfortable working across disciplines in a fast-paced environment, open to international travel (especially to China) and flexible work hours.
