Job Description:

As a Student Researcher at Pendulum, you will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of the field in AI and supply chains by collaborating on building, designing, and deploying cutting-edge AI agents. You will work on problems that directly impact saving lives and enabling organizations to generate "more with less," optimizing resources. The problems addressed require transforming state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to ensure robust, reliable, and safe performance in real-world applications.

What we will do together:

1. Work on unique R&D questions that bring solutions to real-world problems
2. Develop and fine-tune LLMs for "agentic" tasks in supply chain optimization
3. Collaborate with the engineering team to deploy research POCs into production
4. Work with a diverse, remote team including world-renowned AI and optimization leaders
5. Document and publish your work at high-impact machine learning conferences

What you will need:

• Open-mindedness and curiosity; a "can do" attitude
• Strong communication skills and collaboration experience
• Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning or a related discipline
• Fierce hacker mentality & a demo or die mindset
• Proficiency in Python, especially common AI libraries, and GPU computing
• Strong understanding of CS, ML, and Statistics
• Problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability

Definite plus points:

• Publications or contributions to top-tier ML venues
• Proficiency in NLP and mathematical optimization
• Experience with finetuning and multi-agent LLMs
