Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft invites applications for a part-time Student Research Assistant in the Wireless Communications and Networks group at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI). The “Wireless Communications and Networks” department at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) develops wireless communication systems for future mobile network generations (5G+/6G and beyond). The “Connected Intelligence and Robotics” (CIR) group focuses on advanced radio systems, AI-native communications, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), edge intelligence, digital twins, and secure wireless connectivity.
In close collaboration with medical partners, the group investigates how emerging 6G technologies, including integrated sensing and communication, edge intelligence, and distributed AI, can enable future healthcare applications. This includes novel approaches for medical sensing, physiological monitoring, diagnostics, therapy support, and telemedicine, validated through simulations and experimental testbeds. What you contribute
We understand that candidates may not yet have experience in all listed areas. Depending on your background and interests, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in medical sensing, signal processing, wireless communications, machine learning, and 6G technologies as part of the position.

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.
The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
