Student (m/f/d): Calibration of temperature sensors and experimental assistance

During your studies, you can contribute to our ongoing research projects. Join us in pushing the limits of what is technically feasible and be part of breaking new ground together. We offer a variety of challenging and practice-oriented topics for mandatory internships, Bachelor’s or Master’s theses or for student research assistants. You will analyse important scientific preliminary questions and support the project teams with development activities.

The internal research group VirtuSen is working on using virtual sensors to predict the behavior of a nanopositioning system under various external disturbances. Part of this topic is the (thermal) modeling of the system as well as the validation of the created models and data acquisition for training the AI.

We are therefore looking for a student assistant to support the experiments and perspectival the modeling.

WHAT TO DO:
  • Calibration and characterization of thermal sensors
  • Assistance with experiments
  • Assistance with modeling approaches
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:
  • Experience with thermal sensors advantageous
  • Experience with measurement data acquisition and evaluation
  • Experience working with Ansys (mechanical/fluent) advantageous
  • Experience with CAD software (inventor) advantageous
  • Basic knowledge in Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Study: mechanical engineering, mechatronics (or similar)
