The Strategic Initiatives Team is a department developed to enhance the GSC's functional capabilities. Acting as an internal consulting team, its goal is to deepen and broaden GSC's impact, improve efficiency, leverage existing partnerships, and ensure that GSC can best serve its partners and customers.

The Strategic Initiatives Lead will be part of the team focused on solving critical strategic and business issues, advising the Global Supply Chain leadership on strategy, network, process, or organizational topics. Working with senior clients (SC LT members) and cross-functional stakeholders, the role involves leading initiatives at a global, regional, or cluster level, analyzing and solving problems, and recommending actions to leadership. The role ensures active, end-to-end impact on initiatives—from scoping, data collection, modeling/analysis, insight generation, to final recommendations.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Lead and deliver strategic optimization initiatives across various areas of the Global Supply Chain (Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Realization), managing project teams or working independently depending on the initiative.
  • Ensure relevant data collection and validation.
  • Conduct analyses to generate strategically relevant insights.
  • Develop recommendations for GSC LT and/or Cluster/Regional Leadership based on analysis outcomes.
  • Report and present results to leadership with a cohesive narrative.
  • Develop and execute strategic business projects and methodologies with minimal guidance, addressing critical performance challenges in areas like Operations, Supply Chain, and Route to Market.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to envision future scenarios addressing strategic supply chain questions.
  • Propose creative, out-of-the-box solutions to encountered problems.
  • Standardize and improve initiative management to increase impact and efficiency.
  • Generate fact-based insights proactively to optimize the supply chain.
  • Develop supply chain optimization service offerings aligned with business needs and engage with senior stakeholders.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience in supply chain management consulting (business analyst, project lead, etc.).
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and interpret findings.
  • Curious, open-minded, and independent.
  • Excellent skills in data collection, cleansing, organization, and analysis, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or similar), with a motivation to continue learning.
  • Storytelling skills to persuasively communicate insights and challenge perspectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with management at the executive level.
  • Experience in supply chain network design, optimization, and modeling.
  • Skills in data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
  • Broad understanding of global supply chain processes.
  • Additional languages (German, Polish) are beneficial.
