Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Regensburg is seeking a Staff Specialist Forward Deployed Engineering AI/ML to advance AI-driven automation in semiconductor development. You will lead end-to-end AI/ML product cycles, collaborate with engineering teams, and pilot tools for AI-Agent systems to improve reliability and performance.

The role requires a strong foundation in Python, NumPy, PyTorch, and Git, with experience in LLMs, prompt design, and agent orchestration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field; PhD is a plus.
• Around 4 years of experience in Machine Learning and AI.
• Experience in Semiconductor Technologies is an advantage.
• Strong Python skills (NumPy, PyTorch) and Git; AI knowledge covering LLMs, prompt and tool design, agent orchestration, and evaluation methods.

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate tools for AI-Agent (copilots, workflows) and conduct user pilots.
• Overlook the end-to-end cycle for AI/ML products from ideation to deployment.
• Lead the technical development of AI/ML tailor-made solutions.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to drive automation in semiconductor development and reliability.
• Discover and prioritize use cases with business stakeholders, mapping current vs. target processes.
• Define success metrics and hypotheses, setting clear acceptance criteria and guardrails.
• Measure impact, report outcomes, continuously harden and scale successful solutions, and document reusable patterns for a shared starter kit.
