About The Role

You will be building complex models for our homepage ranking, textual item search, recommendation engines, and product knowledge graphs for our merchants. You’ll also use optimisation and causal inference techniques for menu quality assessment and performance-based commercial models. As a Staff-level Data Scientist, you will mentor and guide less experienced team members, sharing best practices in problem-solving, modelling, software engineering, and soft skills.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers, to understand business needs and create end-to-end technical solutions.
2. Deploy and validate solutions for millions of users, enabling fast feedback and measurable value.
3. Deploy models to production using AWS and internal platforms, utilizing tools like Python, Spark, Presto, Docker, SageMaker, and Airflow.
4. Exchange knowledge with Data Scientists across all levels to foster a collaborative environment.
5. Solve real-world problems such as ranking, textual search, recommendation, user clustering, pricing, textual improvement, knowledge extraction from images, and user clusterization.
6. Apply advanced techniques such as deep learning, gradient boosting, causal inference, optimization, dimensionality reduction, uplift modeling, and more.

About you:

1. Have 5+ years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, preferably in product development within a tech company.
2. Proficient in Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and PyTorch, with experience in statistical hypothesis testing.
3. Proactive with a willingness to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate across roles.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
5. Hands-on experience in building end-to-end ML systems, including testing, monitoring, scaling, and impact measurement.
