Zusammenfassung

Amazon Web Services is looking for a senior operations and site reliability leader to drive the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) program in Berlin. You will build and lead teams ensuring high availability of ESC services such as EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock for EU customers.

You will collaborate with global AWS technology leaders, optimize availability, latency, and performance, and participate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents outside normal hours.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• Systems engineering experience with hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
• Expertise in Linux and networking, with advanced system diagnostics, preventive measures, and resolution of complex technical issues that affect performance, reliability, scalability, and high availability.
• Demonstrated success in root‑cause analysis, performance optimization, and implementation of robust monitoring solutions for mission‑critical systems.
• Experience leading the creation, revision, and improvement of standard operational procedures (SOPs) and driving operational best practices.

Overview

AWS has launched the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) as part of its Utility Computing (UC) portfolio. This role supports the delivery of high‑availability AWS services—EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock—to EU customers.

Eligibility Requirements

• National of an EU member state.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Relocation support within the European Union will be provided for successful candidates.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership of complex, cross‑functional initiatives that align multiple teams and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
• Influence without direct authority.
• Mentoring and developing teams and engineers.
• Experience operating 24x7 high‑availability, distributed software applications and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Generative AI technologies, including automated deployment, configuration management, continuous integration workflows, prompt engineering, model deployment, and AI‑powered automation tools.
