Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Software Development Engineer to lead the software development of new robotic products to integrate into our Delivery Station of the future. The successful candidate will be a member of the Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible for strategizing, defining, and managing the software development of robotics technologies for the AMZL Delivery Stations.
This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial-minded individuals with combined robotics engineering, planning, and analytical skills. This individual will directly influence the Amazon last-mile automation roadmap by partnering with Robotics SW Tech Teams, Process Engineering teams, Operations, Facilities, and Engineering teams to improve our final customer shopping experience.
You will coordinate the development and continuous improvement of software libraries and applications for AMZL. Your day may include working with product owners, system developers, and other stakeholders to define software architecture for new concepts involving automation and robotics technologies, ensuring standardization and scalability. You will analyze new vendor technologies and determine how to integrate them into the AMZL software architecture, as well as coordinate testing and commissioning at the AMZL Innovation Center.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent, with experience programming in languages such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby. Additional requirements include experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, process improvement, and building tools for testing and monitoring. Proven project management skills and experience with electrical drawings and complex automation projects are also required. A Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar, and experience with machine learning, IoT, or AI platforms are preferred.
