Cessna Aircraft Company in Bonn, Germany seeks a Sr. Specialist Process Development to drive molding and downstream manufacturing for high-volume production. You will act as SPOC for customer programs and ensure DFx principles are applied from quotation to industrialization.

We require a Master/PhD in Plastics Engineering, 10 years in plastics processing, composites experience, and strong business English. Travel internationally is expected.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Plastic Engineering (Master/PhD) with focus on plastics processing or a comparable education is required.
• 10 years experience in plastics, their molding processes or in process development.
• 5 years experience in processing composites.
• 3 years experience in international automotive industry.
• Excellent business/technical English language skills are necessary.
• Able to communicate on all levels in a cross-functional and -cultural team.
• Strong systematic and self-driven character with an abstract thinking process from A to D (DoE, material & process know how, validation methods).
• Willingness to travel international.

Aufgaben

• Drive the development and industrialization of molding and downline processes for Pentatonic products, ensuring readiness for high-volume serial production.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to optimize process performance, cost efficiency, and product quality.
• Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) for Pentatonic customer programs.
• Ensure robust design-for-manufacturing principles are applied from quotation through to industrialization.
• Support the feasibility study (quotation team) as SPOC and as manufacturing specialist.
• Architect innovative and cost-effective manufacturing solutions from raw material handling to final pack-out.
• Use simulations and physical trials to validate concepts and mitigate risks.
• Define sampling objectives and lead structured experimentation (DOE) to refine process parameters for series production.
• Develop and validate optimal machine setups and downline equipment configurations.
• Drive continuous improvement in cycle time, scrap reduction, and OEE.
• Develop and define process trainings for our manufacturing facilities.
• Present key findings, risks, and recommendations to Senior Management.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and industrialization of molding and downline processes for Pentatonic products, ensuring readiness for high-volume serial production. Lead cross-functional efforts to optimize process performance, cost efficiency, and product quality.
• Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) for Pentatonic customer programs.
• Ensure robust design-for-manufacturing principles are applied from quotation through to industrialization.
• Support the feasibility study (quotation team) as SPOC and as manufacturing specialist.
• Architect innovative and cost-effective manufacturing solutions from raw material handling (magazine/silo) to final pack-out.
• Use simulations and physical trials to validate concepts and proactively mitigate risks.
• Define sampling objectives and lead structured experimentation (e.g., DOE) to refine process parameters for series production.
• Develop and validate optimal machine setups and downline equipment configurations.
• Drive continuous improvement in cycle time, scrap reduction, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Develop and define process trainings for our manufacturing facilities.
• Present key findings, risks, and recommendations to Senior Management.
• Influence strategic decisions for successful project execution.
