What awaits you:
- Responsible for new technology process development in the field of plastic battery housings for automotive applications. Process development will include topics related to injection molding, compression molding, and plastification/extrusion processes; however, the scope of this role is not limited to these materials or processes.
- Maintain an overview of process development topics, implement relevant new content, and prioritize and manage process development activities in accordance with the company's strategy.
- Plan and conduct samplings and execute design of experiments (DoE). Ensure proper documentation, evaluation, and presentation of results.
- Develop, standardize, and globally transfer process knowledge derived from samplings, trials, data analysis, and lessons learned to define robust manufacturing standards, optimal process windows, and equipment setups across the organization.
- Define and support the creation of Process FMEAs (P-FMEAs).
- Support equipment and product development activities with process expertise.
- Support digitalization and AI-driven initiatives by defining, capturing, and analyzing relevant process and quality data to enable data-driven process optimization, establish process boundaries for serial production, and support future intelligent manufacturing solutions.
- Support customer projects throughout the acquisition and industrialization phases, including tooling cost estimation, support of RFQ processes through sourcing (SOW), coordination of tooling concept and design reviews, tool acceptance activities, as well as the planning, execution, documentation, and analysis of samplings.
- Support the process simulation team and contribute to feasibility studies.
What you'll need to succeed:
- University degree in Plastic Engineering or comparable
- Relevant experience in one of the technologies mentioned is a strong plus
- Able to communicate internationally and work in foreign countries and cultures
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Self-driven, independent character (DoE, material and process know-how, validation methods, AI, Digitalization)
- Fluent business and technical English skills are required
- Strong systematic approach to gain a deep know-how of future processes
