About the Role

Visier’s Shared Services SRE team is responsible for operating the cloud infrastructure underlying our technology platform and collaborating with development teams to effectively use these technologies in production environments. We manage AWS integration, API gateway, Cassandra, Kafka, Vault, and Consul implementations, along with our data science workbench, network infrastructure, and security systems.

Our goal is to provide scalable infrastructure for our analytic platform and services.

Responsibilities

1. Deploy and maintain highly available services in AWS using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Jenkins.
2. Debug production issues at various levels, from hardware and OS kernels to application behavior, working closely with developers.
3. Manage the Kong API gateway to ensure secure and reliable API access for customers and partners.
4. Develop secure code and infrastructure to safeguard data and enhance application security.
5. Optimize diagnostics infrastructure such as Splunk, CloudWatch, and Prometheus.
6. Support large clusters of third-party systems like Cassandra, Postgres, and Kafka.
7. Prepare for and simulate disaster scenarios to ensure system resilience.
8. Collaborate with development teams to design infrastructure supporting application features.

Qualifications

1. Extensive experience in networking, network security, firewalls, routing, DNS, and Linux OS technologies.
2. Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and VPC.
3. Strong knowledge of deployment and configuration management tools.
4. Experience developing and maintaining Terraform code for Infrastructure as Code.
5. Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
6. Experience with system security patching and maintaining system integrity.
7. Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes or ECS.
8. Coding skills in Java, Scala, Python, or Groovy.
