Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Sr. Product Manager to support Amazon's Disaster Relief Program.

Natural disasters worldwide impact communities where our customers, employees, and their families reside. Our team assists by leveraging Amazon's product selection, logistics, warehousing, and technology capabilities, and providing channels for customer and employee participation in relief efforts. We monitor natural disasters year-round and respond promptly when they occur. Our established mechanisms enable us to launch activations, providing corporate product donations, disaster response technology services, and logistics support. We operate a series of global hubs with pre-positioned relief supplies for faster disaster response and maintain extensive playbooks to address basic needs during disasters, requiring constant scaling and adaptation.

The position can be based in Munich (Germany) or London (UK).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead disaster relief efforts in the EMEA region.
  2. Manage operations for disaster relief pre-positioning hubs in the region.
  3. Define and iterate the product donation strategy in the region.
  4. Coordinate with procurement, vendors, transportation, and logistics partners.
  5. Manage inventory systems for disaster relief hubs.
  6. Create and optimize region-specific delivery mechanisms.
  7. Influence global hub strategy using regional data and experience.
  8. Act as incident command manager for regional relief activations, including stakeholder management.
  9. Drive operational efficiencies across offerings.
  10. Enhance playbooks and operational standards.
About the Team

Amazon's disaster relief efforts utilize our global logistics capabilities to provide rapid aid, such as shipping essential items to communities after natural disasters. We also leverage technology to support emergency managers and relief organizations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated product or program management experience at a senior level.
  • German language proficiency.
  • Strong operational and project management skills.
  • Proven stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with peak management (e.g., retail holiday seasons or disaster operations).
  • Exposure to incident command management during large-scale events.
  • Familiarity with retail systems, supply chain, and inventory management.
  • Experience with ordering tools, content management, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Track record of operational excellence in program management.
  • Experience in writing playbooks and creating mechanisms.
  • Ability to train others and implement company-wide programs.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience working across cultures and diverse groups.
  • Passion for disaster relief; direct experience is a plus.
