Jobbeschreibung

Amazon is at the forefront of innovation within the space of fulfillment technology and robotics. We are seeking an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to be a part of our global effort to develop and deliver the next generation of world-class technology systems inside our fulfillment centers in Europe.

In the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP-CX) organization, we work backwards from customer needs, representing their voice throughout the product lifecycle—from development to deployment, support, and service. Our mission is to transform "stand-alone work-cells" into "end-to-end integrated solutions" that are safe, easy to operate, maintain, deploy, and service.

Successful candidates will have strong experience in technology development and testing with mechatronics equipment. This position is responsible for planning the schedule, scope, and cost for large-scale fulfillment technology and robotics projects across Europe. As a Sr. Operations Engineer, your primary role is to coordinate and execute the deployment, ramp-up, and support of MSP products in the field. You will also drive continuous improvement in deployment cycle time and hardware design, building relationships and capturing the voice of the customer.

Locations are flexible across the EU (Italy, Germany, Spain, France) and the UK.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Manage project plans and technical solutions.
  2. Influence internal and external partners and suppliers.
  3. Define strategies for technology installation and manage cross-functional projects impacting schedule, scope, cost, and product performance.
  4. Support resource planning, budgeting, and deployment standards.
  5. Communicate program execution and performance effectively across teams.
  6. This role requires travel across Europe, up to 75% or more.
A day in the life

You will focus on deployment project management and product ramp-up support, collaborating with hardware engineering, program managers, and internal customers. You will manage project schedules, budgets, and continuous improvement activities, traveling to project sites as needed.

About the team

The CX team within MSP works backwards from customer insights to validate, deploy, and support MSP solutions globally, ensuring readiness and customer satisfaction. The team manages quality assurance, deployment, ramp-up, and ongoing support for MSP solutions.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in automated or non-automated material handling equipment.
  • Experience managing large projects and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, or related fields.
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, or fulfillment processes.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, or similar tools.
  • Experience with automation solutions and benchmarking technical equipment.
