About The Role

The Sr. Manager, Benefits will lead the benefits function for Cars Commerce, Inc. within the Total Rewards team. This leader will be responsible for the design, implementation and day-to-day administration of all employee benefit plans and wellness programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, supplemental plans, FSA, HSA, COBRA, 401(k) and Leave Management. This important, exciting role will be integral in setting the US and Canadian benefits strategy across the company and ensuring it aligns with the overall HR and company strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for our Benefits programs that aligns with HR/Cars Commerce's goals and helps attract and retain top talent in our ‘remote first’ work environment.
  • Develop and update benefits policies and procedures in support of the benefits strategy; ensure they are clear, concise, and easily accessible to employees.
  • Develop / deliver benefits communications that aligns with the benefits strategy to educate employees about our benefit plans / programs and promotes understanding and engagement
  • Improve benefits design and administration via advanced data analysis and utilization reporting; identify important trends, make concise recommendations and implement changes that deliver program improvements and/or cost savings.
  • Manage vendor relationships (consultants, administrators, record keepers, insurance carriers, trustees, etc.) to ensure the company and our employees receive best-in-class performance that is efficient and affordable.
  • Oversee benefits budgets and billing; partner with the Finance function to develop Plan funding requirements and forecasts, and with all other internal partners (Legal, Communications, Payroll, etc.) to ensure benefit programs are cost effective, compliant and competitive.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to plan the administration / implementation of key benefits evolutions throughout the year including annual enrollment and other wellness and employee engagement related initiatives.
  • Utilize Workday and other HR technology platforms to develop new (or improve existing) Benefits related business processes and work flows; Drive efficiency and compliance of Benefits administration through technology utilization.
  • Audit benefit plans and processes to ensure accurate and effective administration and to improve efficiency; includes review of regulatory compliance, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA and similar federal, state and local regulations.
  • Actively project manage new and ongoing benefits projects and deliverables
  • Manage one/two direct reports; mentor other Total Rewards and HR team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Requirements, Education And Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in Benefit design and administration, including leadership experience.
  • Other cross-HR/Total Rewards experience, including Compensation and HRIS experience would be advantageous
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience with, benefit laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, 401(k); high deductible health plans (HDHPs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs); self-insured health plans; understanding of benefits billing process and requirements for HRIS applications.
  • Experience managing multi-State US PTO and sick-time programs (incl Canada)
  • Experience managing / administering multi-state LEAVE programs (incl Canada)
  • Experience with Workday HCM and Benefits Modules, workflows and business processes.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills; demonstrated ability to move projects from design to deployment.
  • Passion for continuously improving the experience of our employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player and desire to work in a collaborative environment with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Benefits financials, budgets/accruals of benefits plans for self-insured health plans.

Salary Range

$118,600.00-148,250.00
