Zusammenfassung

HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer / Embedded Software Developer to shape the next generation of safety-critical control systems. You will design, develop, verify, and validate firmware and embedded software, in close collaboration with hardware engineers and product owners.

You will work in agile, self-organized teams, mentoring junior developers and potentially taking on team leadership responsibilities in the medium term.

Qualifikationen

• At least 5 years of firmware development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Experience with modern microcontroller architectures and RTOS.
• Knowledge of functional safety and/or cybersecurity is a plus.
• Good knowledge of communication protocols.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, verification, and validation of firmware and embedded software for our next generation of safety-critical control systems. You will work closely with hardware engineers, product owners, and other team members to develop efficient, reliable, robust, and high-performance embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Independent development of complex firmware solutions
• Architecture and design of firmware systems
• Drive improvements in software quality, testability, maintainability, and reliability
• Mentor and support junior developers
• Provide technical leadership on projects
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders
• Optionally, take on team leadership responsibilities in the medium term

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in firmware development
• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Extensive experience with modern microcontroller architectures
• In-depth understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience in functional safety and/or cybersecurity
• Good knowledge of communication protocols
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
