The Team...

This position, based out of our Frankfurt office, will form an integral part of the Harley-Davidson International Finance team and a subregion of our Sales and Marketing Operations teams.

Our team provides accounting, financial and commercial support to a wide range of stakeholders throughout the region. This role will also interact with the wider EMEA Finance Consolidation team, based in Oxford. In addition to the Finance Team in Oxford, there are local Finance staff at most international sites, as well as of course at Harley-Davidson’s corporate head offices in Milwaukee, WI.

The Opportunity…


This is an exciting role, where you will assist the Finance Leads to manage and ensure the timely execution of all finance and accounting affairs within a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd. The successful Senior Finance Analyst will work closely with the markets’ management teams to add value and contribute to the attainment of operational and strategic objectives.

You will demonstrate strong teamwork with colleagues across the organisation, which would include Marketing, Events, Sales, Dealer Development and Customer Service. This role reports to the Finance Lead to ensure local results and activities are aligned with the overarching regional objectives.

Your financial expertise will be utilised to support the accuracy of the regions financial data, as well as applying analytical review and forecasting / planning.

You will support all financial processes, reporting, controls and development as well as supporting the implementation of changes to the financial systems and processes in order to ensure quality, accuracy and integrity of data, with timely and applied business reporting / management including the support of timely filing of all relevant statutory requirements, including but not limited to income tax, VAT filings as well as annual accounts (as applicable).

The Role...

Month-end Processes

  • Ensure that the accounting close process is completed accurately and on time. This includes coordination of efforts with the Finance colleagues in Commercial Finance and Oxford consolidation team as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, up-to-date and reconciled accounts, as well as timely and robust management reporting.
  • Support the timely filing of all relevant statutory requirements and ensure the execution of audit activities with guidance from the Finance Lead and other functions as needed.

Forecasting, Planning & Reporting

  • Manage the preparation of Operating Expense forecasts for the region. Provide the corresponding reporting and analysis monthly and ad-hoc as required. Track progress against plans and forecasts, etc.
  • Provide performance monitoring, via weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and ensure that all budgets, forecasts and targets are effectively communicated to members of each team.
  • Provide other business analysis as required to assist the organization.

Control

  • Provide control via weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Support the management and control of discount and promotional programme process for the markets.
  • Ensure management and integrity of all market control processes, e.g. credit note approval.
  • Manage and control the fleet of Company Owned Vehicles from a financial perspective.
  • Assist with process and control environment improvements on an ad-hoc basis.

The ability to form exceptional relationships with commercial, operational and finance staff will be essential, and important to your career. You will be self-motivated and a self-starter continuously looking for process improvements. You’re a critical thinker who isn’t afraid to question and challenge. Strong attention to detail while maintaining a broader, analytical perspective; and excellent organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a part-qualified accountant with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience demonstrated within financial transaction processing, financial management, financial reporting preferably within both professional practice and industry. In addition, excellent MS-Excel / database skills and experience with either SAP or a large ERP system is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English are required.
