The National Autistic Society is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to work under the direction of the Speech and Language Therapist and support autistic adults with communication needs across Scotland Services.
The role is varied and hands-on, including direct and indirect support, creating communication resources, assisting with staff training, maintaining records, and collaborating with families and professionals to improve communication skills and quality of life.

As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Speech and Language Therapist to support autistic adults with communication needs across Scotland Services. The role is varied and hands-on, involving direct and indirect support, creating communication resources and visual aids, assisting with staff training, maintaining records, and working alongside families, staff teams, and multidisciplinary professionals. You will play an important part in helping people develop their communication skills, improve understanding, and enhance their quality of life.
Catrine Bank is one of our supported living services in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It includes three houses and two cottages. With the river Ayr running adjacent, Catrine village is a beautiful, remote and rural area with access to varied county walks and National Trust locations within easy access.
This advert is for a full-time position at 37 hours per week.
Speech and Language Therapy work closely with all Scotland Service. Most of our work is based within services. Location is flexible and guided by the needs of the people we support and service requirements.
Travelling as required is part of the requirements for this post.
To protect our autistic adults at the National Autistic Society, all staff are required to have a criminal background check. In line with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration, successful candidates will work towards relevant qualifications.
Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement of the post and the National Autistic Society will cover the cost of your application.
