Zusammenfassung

ZEISS Group is seeking a Specialist in Sustainability Metrics & LCIA to drive innovation in medical technology. This role involves defining sustainability metrics, conducting life cycle assessments, and ensuring compliance with standards. Ideal candidates will possess a Master's degree and experience in LCIA, along with strong project management and communication skills in English and German.

Specialist Sustainability Metrics & LCIA (f/m/x) Your role
  1. Co-define/design, model sustainability metrics, conduct Life Cycle Impact Assessments, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.

  2. Model and simulate processes, material, and energy flows of production and product systems.

  3. Fulfill requirements of mandatory and voluntary LCIA/sustainability standards (e.g., GHG Protocol) and achieve positive audit outcomes.

  4. Serve as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding LCIA and related standards and certifications.

  5. Define LCIA data governance processes according to regulations and norms, and develop compliant reporting formats for the Carl Zeiss Group.

  6. Advise, support, and train internal stakeholders within the scope of the segment sustainability strategy; co-define sustainability KPIs, objectives, and targets for product categories in line with this strategy.

Your profile

  1. Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical, etc.) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, etc.), or bachelor’s degree with additional R&D experience.

  2. Minimum two years of LCIA practitioner experience, preferably in a consultancy or multi-site industrial medical technology company, with practical project management and interaction with external auditors.

  3. Expertise in LCIA standards & guidances (ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, PEF, EPDs, EMAS, EcoLabel), with skills in LCIA calculations and KPI generation using LCIA tools.

  4. Familiarity with GHG accounting, life cycle assessment, and environmental management standards.

  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships.

  6. Self-driven, organized, motivated, and passionate about sustainability.

  7. Business-fluent in English and German, with excellent communication skills and willingness to travel.
