SSC Space in Darmstadt is seeking a Spacecraft Analyst (f/m/d) to join our Mission Operations team at ESOC. You will maintain databases, develop tools, and support mission planning and data processing.

The role requires EU citizenship, strong systems experience, Python/VBA, SQL, Linux, SCOS-2000 knowledge, and good English; travels in Europe may be required.

Qualifikationen

• Strong practical experience in the relevant field.
• Knowledge of spacecraft control systems such as SCOS-2000 and related standards.
• Experience with Excel and Access, including queries and macros.
• Knowledge of the Linux environment and shell scripting.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Programming knowledge in Python and/or VBA.
• Good communication skills and team spirit.
• Proficient in English.

Aufgaben

• Maintain spacecraft and ground segment operational databases and related tools.
• Develop and maintain custom software tools for mission planning and preparation.
• Review documentation in datapacks for system reviews; verify ICDs and manuals.
• Collect mission performance data and generate operational reports.
• Support development and integration of flight operations and data processing interfaces.
• Assist with mission plan generation and validation of database applications.
• Travel within Europe may be required.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience in the relevant field
• Knowledge of spacecraft control systems such as SCOS-2000 and related standards
• Strong practical experience with office automation tools, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access (use of functions, queries, macros, reports, input forms, etc.)
• Knowledge of the Linux environment including interactive shells and shell scripting
• Strong practical experience with relational databases and correspondent management systems (RDBMS) and good knowledge of SQL
• Programming knowledge and experience with Python and/or other high level programming languages, including Visual Basic and VBA for Office, are an advantage
• Good communication skills and team spirit
• Good knowledge of the English language

Responsibilities

• Maintain the spacecraft and ground segment operational databases, related tools, procedures, and documentation under strict configuration control
• Develop and maintain custom software tools that may be required for efficient and effective conduct of mission planning and preparation tasks
• Support in the review of assigned documentation in the datapacks for the system level reviews, assessing the completeness and consistency of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), verifying the adequacy of the Spacecraft User Manual, including its procedures and mission timeline, as well as tests coverage and reporting
• Collect the information / data regarding the performance of the mission and provision of inputs for mission reportsSupport the generation of operational reports based on inputs received from other FCT members
• Support for the development and integration logic for flight operations and data processing centers, services, and operational interfaces
• Routine mission plan generation support and support for validation of database related applications. as required
• Travels within Europe may be required.
