SSC Space Gilching, Germany, is seeking a Network Engineer (f/m/d) to design, configure, and maintain complex network systems. You will work in our Engineering Service team, ensuring security and reliable operations for space‑related missions.

Requirements include a university degree in CS/IT, 5+ years in network engineering and security, experience with Cisco/Juniper equipment, CCNP/CCIE preferred, fluent English, and EU citizenship. Start ASAP; submission deadline 2026-09-15.

Security

In line with security requirements for the missions of this position, the candidate must hold European citizenship. Evidence of eligibility will be required as part of the recruitment process. Additionally, due to the nature of our work, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference and identity checks.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, IT or a similar discipline
• Proven and strong experience in network engineering
• More than 5 years of experience in network security, network protocols, IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs
• Experience in Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or similar preferred
• Experience in space missions ground system operations or maintenance
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
