Why we need this role
The Technical Consultant is responsible for pre-sales solution design for Enterprise customers, aligning technical solutions with their requirements and business outcomes. This role involves technical negotiations and handing over projects to delivery teams to ensure successful implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong ICT skills (networking, cloud, cybersecurity, voice) and a customer-centric approach to solution design.
What you will do
The Technical Consultant will design technical solutions and advise during implementation and assurance phases. Key responsibilities include:
- Technical Solution Design: Develop pre-sales technical designs as a trusted advisor, meeting customer needs and business goals, with expertise in at least two ICT areas (e.g., networking, cloud, cybersecurity, voice).
- Customer Engagement and Negotiations: Participate in customer meetings to gather requirements, address inquiries, negotiate solutions, and present designs, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
- Collaboration and Handover: Work with Delivery teams for smooth transition from design to implementation, providing documentation and technical guidance.
- Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, document lessons learned, and create reusable templates.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging ICT technologies and trends, maintain certifications, and develop expertise to support innovative solutions.
- Alignment with Sales and Product Teams: Collaborate to ensure solutions meet customer needs and support sales strategies.
- Team Objectives: Support deal closures, customer satisfaction, and overall pre-sales success.
Relationships and key contacts
The Technical Consultant interacts with various stakeholders to ensure project success, including:
- Sales Team: Collaborate to understand requirements and support during sales cycles.
- Customers: Engage with clients at various levels to understand needs and provide strategic guidance.
- Internal Stakeholders: Work with product management, engineering, and operations teams.
- Third-Party Partners: Manage relationships to deliver integrated solutions.
- Leadership Team: Provide updates on project progress and strategic initiatives.
What we're looking for
- Technical Expertise: Ability to design, document, and present complex ICT solutions with specialization in at least two areas and industry certifications.
- Customer-Facing Experience: Proven experience engaging with customers, gathering requirements, and explaining technical concepts clearly.
- Industry Awareness: Good understanding of ICT trends, market landscape, and enterprise pain points.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies and earning relevant certifications.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent, with 2+ years in similar roles.
