We are offering an innovative Software Quality Test Engineer position to join our software team in Waldbronn, Germany.

This is an exciting opportunity to create software solutions in a lab environment. Our aim is to investigate, identify, and develop new products, processes, and technologies that enable smoother laboratory workflows using our liquid chromatography instruments, helping our customers gain trusted answers and insights efficiently.

To succeed in this role, you will drive and collaborate with the team to set up the infrastructure for Test Automation, including defining, implementing test methods, procedures, and criteria.

Software Test Engineer M/F/D
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement test campaigns, from automated, functional test cases to validate customer workflows across the Liquid Chromatography product portfolio within key Chromatography Data System platforms and additional applications.
  2. Define and develop automated test cases for functional, performance, and system testing.
  3. Collaborate with R&D engineers and Product Marketing to apply appropriate test concepts for functional, system, workflow, and integration tests.
  4. Ensure traceability across requirements, test cases, and defects.
  5. Produce and perform required Product Lifecycle documentation to meet Agilent’s quality metrics.

We seek a self-motivated, collaborative colleague with a solid understanding of sophisticated software testing processes from start to finish, and a creative, proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications:
  • A University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Life Sciences field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with software development and testing processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows technologies (.Net, C#), OOP, and web technologies (JavaScript, HTML).
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Ideally, experience with test frameworks and automation tools like Jenkins, Reqnroll, Selenium, nUnit, or MS Test.
  • Familiarity with virtualization infrastructure (e.g., VMware ESX).
  • A genuine passion for application development testing.
  • An inherent focus on usability and quality.
  • Experience or knowledge in Life Sciences or regulated environments is a plus.
  • Experience with liquid chromatography and chromatographic data systems (CDS) is a plus.
  • Experience with API design and testing (OPC UA / REST API) makes you outstanding.
  • Fluent in English and German (written and verbal, level B1).
