Nortal is seeking a Senior Software Solutions Architect in Germany to guide large-scale e-government projects. You will advise clients, lead technical workshops, and shape high‑level architecture while mentoring engineers.

Remote and on-site options across Berlin, Hamburg, Potsdam, Dresden, or Cologne are available. The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, agile design, and a hands-on approach to ensure scalable, reliable solutions with strong SDLC and CI/CD discipline.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in technical consulting.
• Experience planning, facilitating, and structuring technical workshops.
• Extensive experience in technical leadership and/or solution architecture design.
• Strong software engineering background across diverse technologies and ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and CI/CD processes.
• Curiosity for understanding complex IT landscapes and architecture archaeology to identify best solutions.
• Interest in supporting sales with translating client needs into effective solutions.
• Excellent German and good English communication (C1).
• Strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to align vision with practical implementation.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients and facilitate technical workshops with customers and their service providers.
• Take on technical project leadership, including solution design, specifications, and effort estimation in agile software development projects.
• Design and document the overall architecture of large software systems consisting of multiple applications and their interactions.
• Define system‑wide architecture, design, and implementation guidelines and best practices.
• Coach, mentor, and support software developers and other team members.
• Select and evaluate tools and systems that meet business requirements.
• Support sales activities and proposal development, including technical solution design and effort estimation.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in technical consulting.
• Proven experience planning, facilitating, and structuring technical workshops.
• Extensive experience in technical leadership and/or solution architecture design.
• A strong software engineering background and the ability to work across a wide range of technologies, architectures, and ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD processes.
• Curiosity and interest in understanding complex IT landscapes and performing “architecture archaeology” to identify the best solutions for clients, teams, and systems.
• Interest in supporting sales processes, with experience working closely with clients and translating their needs into effective solutions.
• Excellent German and good English communication skills, both written and spoken (C1)
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to combine strategic vision with practical implementation requirements.
