Position Description:

One of the crucial steps in generating a physical object from a CAD file using Laser Powder Bed Fusion is to create the path along which each laser spot travels. This process, called Data Preparation, is very challenging due to highly complex geometries and the physical phenomena involved. Tackling it requires:

  • Knowledge of the governing physical phenomena of the LPBF process
  • Mastering the math behind managing multiple laser spots simultaneously
  • Software engineering skills to implement your ideas
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Enthusiasm for your profession and a drive to develop and innovate
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with project management and experimental skills considered a plus
  • Team-oriented working style with the ability to work independently and explore new areas
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical), Physics, or Software Engineering
  • Background in Laser Powder Bed Fusion or similar processes is advantageous
  • Fluency in English
