We're looking for

We are seeking a Software Engineer (m/f/d) in Berlin to join our international tech team and contribute to the growth of one of the fastest-growing companies in the heating market. As part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing technical solutions for the optimal allocation of our in-house workforce. Working with your cross-functional team, you will help build a highly effective product that manages our most valuable asset at thermondo: over 500 craftspeople for installations and service. Our goal is to send the right team to the right place at the right time, while maintaining an outstanding customer experience.

Although our products are built using Python and Django, we value an agnostic approach to software development. We welcome you as you are; specific programming language expertise is not required.

What you will enjoy doing

1. Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team on product discovery, planning, and implementing user-focused solutions.
2. Taking ownership of and leading the development of software solutions.
3. Creating user-friendly solutions that drive business value, such as tools that enable us to deploy the right team to the right location across Germany multiple times a week.
4. Establishing and maintaining engineering standards and advocating for continuous improvements.
5. Providing guidance and coaching to team members, including non-technical roles.

Who you are

• You have 3+ years of experience developing web applications with any programming language, preferably a JVM language.
• You have experience designing and developing high-performance, scalable microservices-based services, and are familiar with professional software engineering practices, clean architecture, coding standards, and documentation.
• You understand and apply design patterns and principles of Object-Oriented Design.
• You have hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD platforms, and building REST APIs.
• You can explain the differences between programming paradigms: Functional, Procedural, Object-oriented.
• Mentoring and coaching colleagues is something you value.
• You possess an agile software development mindset.
• Proficiency in English at a C1 level is required, as our teams primarily communicate in English.
