Zalando is seeking a Software Engineer in our Logistics Engineering team to develop logistics systems that support the delivery of millions of items to customers. You will work on stock distribution, receive distribution, storage, returns, and optimization of automation and staff.

You will extend existing components, implement small features and bug fixes, and help improve test coverage and developer experience.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience with JVM-based languages (Java/Kotlin).
• Some experience with Typescript/Javascript.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, KTOR, React is a plus.

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Software Engineer in our Logistics Engineering team, you will develop logistics systems to support the delivery of millions of items to our customers. You would be a part of our teams that develop systems that, for example, do stock distribution across warehouses, handle receive distribution and storage of goods and returns, develop algorithms to optimize the utilization of automation and staff, or create processes to ship goods to our customers while reducing errors and improving the performance of logistics centers.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You’ll develop and test features, which are deployed to production and create value for customer.
• You’ll improve the team's developer experience, by automating repetitive tasks or improving test coverage.
• You mainly work on extending existing software components by implementing small features and bug fixes for existing functionality.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have a proven track record of software engineering experience in JVM-based languages like Java/ Kotlin
• You have some experience with Typescript/ Javascript.
• Knowledge of the Spring Boot, KTOR, React frameworks are a plus.
• You understand business value for the customers or teams
• You focus on learning good practices, software design, and engineering methodology fundamentals
• You aim to constantly understand the real-time behavior of functionality that you have written and deployed to production with the help of your peers
• You explain the thinking process and solutions clearly in team discussions to your peers
• You apply structured ways to decompose and solve simple problems, which have been well-defined by others
