This is ahigh-impact, strategic role — ideal for someone who thrives on writing code, building systems, and shaping the future of testing and quality at a growing company.
As the first dedicated Test Engineer (m/f/d), you will own the entire testing function: from writing comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, and E2E), to defining our long-term testing strategy and quality culture. Over time, this person will lay the foundation for a growing team and may step into a leadership role as the team scales. You must be 100% hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating independently while collaborating across Engineering and Product.Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks (unit, integration, API, and E2E).
  • Take full ownership of E2E testing, including test design, maintenance, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and create a comprehensive test strategy across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure testability and quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Champion best practices in testing, quality assurance, and code health.
  • Set up and maintain tools and environments needed for testing.
  • Continuously improve test performance, reliability, and reporting.
  • Lead root cause analysis of defects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a quality advocate (m/f/d), influencing a culture of testing across the organization.

Your profile
  • Multiple years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong coding skills in a modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#,Python, etc.)
  • Experience building test automation for both frontend and backend systems.
  • Deep experience with E2E testing tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe, etc.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration, and modern deployment practices.
  • Solid grasp of software testing methodologies, test case design, and defect management.
  • Comfortable defining testing processes and strategies from scratch in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with performance testing, security testing, or chaos testing.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Azure or AWS, for example).
  • Prior experience building or leading a test engineering function.

Why us?
  • High-impact role: You will directly influence product quality and engineering culture from day one.
  • Growth opportunity: Shape the foundation of a quality function and grow into a leadership role as the team scales.
  • Ownership and autonomy: We trust you to make key decisions and implement the best tools and practices.
  • Collaborative team: Work with experienced engineers and product leaders in a supportive, open environment.
  • A hybrid working setup (3 days week at the office) and flexible workation policy.
  • Employer-funded benefits like pensions, fitness, bicycles, and daycare subsidies.
