Job Description

Summary: The Software Engineer-III designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines software’s compatibility with hardware and/or influences software's design in relation to hardware.

Manager, Software Engineering

Job Overview:

The Software Engineer-III is responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software for new and existing products. This includes developing various software tools and ensuring compatibility with hardware.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Understand computer science fundamentals such as algorithms and data structures.
2. Write efficient, modular, and maintainable code.
3. Make technical recommendations and solve complex problems.
4. Complete tasks within deadlines and quality standards.
5. Understand hardware principles to inform software design.
6. Link work to market needs and build expertise in the current product domain.
7. Deliver tested and documented code on time.
8. Estimate work efforts accurately.
9. Participate in meetings and agile ceremonies.
10. Provide test coverage to safeguard against future issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Proven track record of software development.
• Mastery of at least one programming language.
• Strong coding skills in C and Java.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to code faster than average developers.
• High-quality code with minimal bugs.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, databases, cloud systems, and IBM Mainframe z/OS.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
