About the Role :

A leading global tech company is seeking a freelance C++ Software Engineer to contribute to the performance and scalability of its internal version control system, which underpins all software development across the organization. This system supports hundreds of thousands of requests per second and is considered a mission-critical asset.

The project focuses on developing and executing advanced load testing solutions to simulate real-world usage patterns, identify system bottlenecks, and support long-term capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement scalable load testing infrastructure using proprietary / internal tools.
  • Simulate realistic engineering workflows or replay real interactions to assess performance under load.
  • Analyze system behavior and performance metrics to surface and address scalability issues.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable C++ code conforming to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and tooling teams to ensure long-term system reliability and performance.
  • Learn and navigate complex, proprietary internal systems quickly and effectively.

Required Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with large, distributed systems and high-throughput environments.
  • Experience simulating system load at scale or creating testing environments for backend services.
  • Knowledge of widely respected C++ coding standards (e.g., style guides used by top tech companies).
  • Prior exposure to proprietary / internal developer tooling is a plus.
