Hetzner Online is hiring for a Backend Developer to design, develop, and enhance our public REST API for server management. You will build backend services to automate operational workflows across our data centers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high code quality through reviews and testing.

The role emphasizes strong PHP skills, RESTful API design, and experience with Symfony or Laravel. German language fluency is required for written and spoken communication.

Qualifikationen

• A degree in Computer Science, completed vocational training in software development, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong programming skills in PHP.
• Solid experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with modern PHP frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel is a plus.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Fluent German language skills (written and spoken).

Join our Bare Metal Server development team and help build the core public API that powers our customers' server infrastructure. Our API enables customers to manage, automate, and scale every aspect of their server operations. Beyond customer-facing services, we also develop software that streamlines and automates processes at our data centers, helping us achieve a high level of operational efficiency.

For many years, we've relied on the Symfony framework as the foundation of our backend applications. Our technology stack also includes Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, MariaDB, GitLab, Codeception, Composer, and other modern development tools.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance our public REST API for server management
