Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching seeks a Software Architect to lead the software design for mission data production and verification within the EW Ground Support System team.

You will analyze use cases with system engineering, define software architectures, and implement GUI solutions in Java using Eclipse RCP/OSGi. Collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to SDLC standards are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science or equivalent qualification.
• Object-oriented analysis and design using UML.
• Code programming skills in Java, C, Python.
• GUI implementation for desktop applications with EMF and SWT.
• Sound knowledge of development environments (Eclipse IDE, Git, Maven, SonarQube).
• Special knowledge in data model design and relational database (Oracle).
• Nice to have experience in electronic warfare and defensive aids systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the use cases and needs in close cooperation with the system engineering team stakeholders.
• Define and realize the software design and evaluate architectural solutions to choose the best option.
• Translate user workflows into software and GUI solutions using Java and related technologies.
• Design and implement mission data preparation and verification solutions with Eclipse RCP, OSGi and Java.
• Prepare and execute software tests to satisfy verification and validation levels.
• Integrate activities in the Software Development Lifecycle and develop according to the Software Development Plan and standards.

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Software Architect(d/f/m).

You will be joining the Electronic Warfare Ground Support System Software Team.

We develop ground mission systems to support the operation of Defensive Aids Subsystem for our A400M aircraft. Our systems enable mission data elaboration, provide the data interfaces to the onboard systems, and support the evaluation of the mission execution in the context of electronic warfare, defensive aids and sensor fusion.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You analyze the use cases and needs in close cooperation with the various stakeholders of system engineering team.


• You define and realize the software design and the ability to evaluate different architectural solutions and choose the best solution.


• You are able to understand user workflows and define Software and GUI solutions using specific technologies to support and enhance different steps throughout the mission data production and verification.


• Further- on you will design and implement mission data preparation and verification solutions with the support of state-of-the-art technologies such as Eclipse RCP, OSGI and Java.


• One part of your future tasks will be the preparation and execution of software tests to satisfy the different levels of software verification and validation.


• Finally, you also take care of the integration of activities in the Software Development Lifecycle. You develop according to Software Development Plan and accompanied Standards.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

• You hold an university degree in computer science or equivalent qualification.


• You consider yourself a Software Architect with:

• You are a good communicator with a proactive mindset and the ability to work in a team.


• Agile software development processes and methods are not unfamiliar terms for you.


• You are fluent in English, knowledge in German would be a plus.
