Do you love social media so much that you have made it your career? Are you creative, innovative, and looking for an exciting new role?
We’re seeking a Social Media Officer to help us engage our online communities and create compelling content that helps catch criminals and keeps our communities across Sussex safe.
You’ll have a variety of topics and stories to work with, from crime appeals to major investigations, behind-the-scenes access, and public safety campaigns – with the autonomy to curate and create your own content.
You need experience using social media in a business capacity to achieve specific objectives, including understanding how to use data, trends, and channel exploitation to maximize reach, engagement, and views.
Our organization utilizes Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn as core channels, with some content on Snapchat and X, along with growing video content and plans to diversify further.
We use a mix of organic and paid media and collaborate with other police forces and external agencies to develop and distribute campaigns, providing broad career-building experience.
Experience with social media management platforms for publishing, scheduling, and reporting is preferred, but experience with native tools like Meta’s Business Suite is also valuable.
We support hybrid working, allowing the role to be undertaken from our Lewes Headquarters, local police sites, or from home.
