Jobtailor in Germany is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer to oversee construction safety on site and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will conduct daily inspections, lead safety orientations, document investigations, implement the Accident Prevention Plan and AHAs, and ensure proper PPE use. You will coordinate with project management, maintain safety records, and drive a positive safety culture through leadership and clear communication.

Qualifikationen

• Ten years of documented construction safety experience.
• At least five years as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
• Thorough knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA 1926 regulations.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course completed.
• Annual safety continuing education completed (8 hours).
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Aufgaben

• Conduct daily inspections of personnel, equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Perform new worker safety orientations and ongoing safety meetings.
• Lead and document incident, mishap, and near-miss investigations.
• Maintain required safety documentation and reference materials onsite.
• Attend and participate in pre-construction conferences, preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, and Three-Phase Quality Control meetings
• Implement, monitor, and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Verify compliance with safety requirements by employees, subcontractors, and visitors
• Stop work and initiate corrective actions when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain daily safety records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation
• Coordinate with project management and other stakeholders regarding safety-related matters
• Promote a positive safety culture through visible onsite leadership and employee engagement

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent
• Minimum of ten (10) years of documented construction safety experience
• At least five (5) years serving as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
• Thorough knowledge of current EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and applicable construction safety regulations
• Successful completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course
• Completion of additional 40 hours of documented construction safety training
• Documented completion of 8 hours of formal safety-related continuing education annually for the previous five years
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills
